A unique opportunity to experience Christmas in a family oriented woodland location in Menai Bridge.

Come along on Thursday 16th December 4.00pm-8.00pm and enjoy the first festival of its kind here in Menai Bridge.

Come and join in the merriment from the Christmas gift market at St Tysilio's Spectacular 'Son et Lumiere' Christmas Pageant.

Experience the excitment and wonder of Santa's Magical Forest Grotto to the Highest Ice Mountain Slide.

Great event for all the family, and we look forward to seeing you on the day.

Location: The church of Saint Tysilio is situated on Church island (or Ynys Tysilio) on the Menai Strait and near the Menai Suspension Bridge.

You reach it by crossing a stone built causeway.

From Menai Bridge, if you go past Anglesey Arms pub and Waitrose there is a small car park where you will find a footpath through some woodlands which leads to the causeway.

St Tysilio is between the woodland cover and the sea, to the south west of the Suspension Bridge.

Thanks for sharing.
by: Dylan Parker

Christmas is one of the most important festivals for all. Everyone find themselves excited for this festival, especially for Santa’s gifts. We all enjoy the festival by purchasing new clothes, gifts, making parties etc. Thanks Pauline for sharing your experience with us. I noticed how you parked your car in a small place. I would like to suggest you one thing that don’t ignore your car in excitement because a small ignorance may cost you a lot. Always be careful for your car’s servicing and maintenance

More information - Telford Winter Festival
by: Jo Quinney

Thursday 16 December 4pm to 8pm in Menai Bridge fabulous family event for Christmas.

Last year Ysgol y Borth, the primary school in Menai Bridge, held Anglesey’s first ‘son et lumière’ show on Church Island. The ambitious project lit the 14th century church of St Tysilio and Church Island. They created a sound and light show bringing the community together to celebrate the Christmas story.

This year the ‘son et lumière’ show on Church Island will be part of the Telford Christmas Festival. It will take place twice at 6.30 and 7.30pm during the festival, followed by a firework display (£1.50pp).

Youngsters will have the opportunity to visit Santa and his elves in his magical grotto hidden in the woods (£2.00pp). The adventurous can climb ‘Ice Mountain’ the highest slide in Europe.

Local food producers will are holding a market where food, produce and Christmas gifts can be tasted and purchased. A raffle will be held for two luxury hampers from Waitrose, Menai Bridge.

The event will also feature the town band Band Pres Porthaethwy.

“It is an opportunity for community groups to come together and raise funds. Menai Bridge is well known for the fair and the raft race we want to be known for holding a fabulous Winter Festival as well,” said Nigel McCann from the organising committee.

The event will take place on December 16 from 4pm until 8pm.
A park and ride service will operate from Ysgol David Hughes during the festival (£1per car FREE bus).

“We encourage everyone locally to join us for a special Christmas experience,” said Nigel.

getting home afterwards
by: Anonymous

There's a huge snag. Anyone who does not drive, who came to this event from any of the villages in the Beaumaris area would either have to leave well before 8 p.m. or wait until after 11 p,m, for a bus home
This is not, of course, the fault of the organisers of this interesting event - and other villages are even worse supplied - but it makes it extremely difficult to support such excellent events
