No Choice But New Nuclear For Britain

by D J Heathcote
(Anglesey)

Britain has no choice but to build Wylfa B and more nuclear power stations.

Wind power is a dream, a false economy, both are in my back yard and I know the best option is nuclear.

Thanks Mr Heathcote for your comments. Let's hope the process is not delayed and that a formal application for the new site will be made within the next 12 months or so.

As I understand the nuclear division of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has to be satisfied about all the safety aspects of the potential reactor models. Two designs, AP1000 by Toshiba Westinghouse and the EPR by Areva, are being considered by the HSE.

we could have tidal turbines around Anglesey as we have some spots with very strong currents like south Stack and Skerries

please no more wind farms
by: Alison

I agree. We do not want more wind farms. For days over the Christmas holidays round Cemaes they were stopped, so no electricity. And it's not reliable. please get on with nuclear station.
