PM Royal Wedding Island Photos Gift

by J Roberts
(North Wales)

British Prime Minister David Cameron chooses picture books of Anglesey as a wedding gift for Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

Two volumes containing over 100 images of landscapes around the island were sent to Downing Street by the artist, Glyn Davies, of Menai Bridge.

The Prime Minister said he was aware from talking to Prince William, how much he enjoys his time on Anglesey, where he serves as a search and rescue pilot.

And for this reason he felt the great photos by Glyn Davies would be "a happy memory for him while he's here, but also after he's moved on to other things."

Mr Davies understands that Kate has a very keen interest in photography, and so in future she may be supportive of the arts on the island.

Meanwhile, as final preparations get underway for tomorrow's wedding, some parts of the island have already become festooned with flags. At the Valley Arms Hotel near the Valley crossroads we passed red, white and blue flags, with photos of Will and Kate, have been spotted.

Look out for more flags as the big day approaches!

More to follow shorlty.....

good of the PM to promote Anglesey with this special wedding present. puts the island on the map again, and makes up for the Weetabix omission.
