Storm Seas Anglesey Coast January 2014

by R Phillips
(Trearddur Bay)

The stormy weather continues across Wales and here on Anglesey island, North Wales, big seas surged along the south west coast.

Here is a clip of the huge waves which battered Trearddur Bay. See how the waves smash into the promenade and the spray rises 20 metres into the air, lifting stones and rocks into the main road through Trearddur.

The main car park opposite the old cricket field behind the Celtic Cross and promenade was completely flooded.

Much of this flooding is in the zone of proposed new housing development on this low lying ground.

Enjoy the video.

We was there!!!
by: Mr and Mrs Greenfield

Fantastic video Mr Phillips!! Thank you for sharing this and great that we can show our friends what we saw that day! We have never seen anything like it - only on the news! We was on holiday and was viewing from Ravenspoint Road. Couldn't believe how huge the waves were and how quickly they crashed over onto the other side of the road. Unbelievable! The flooding on the roads, car park and football pitch happened within minutes. Still my favourite place!

developers beware
by: Lancashiremon

Will the builders considering building on this flood plain take notice of this video. It should also be required viewing for anyone planning to buy property in that area. Whether either will happen is debatable.
