Ship to Shore near Church Bay

by Martin Richardson
(Southport)

Not a story but a query ?

Whilst recently on the first leg of my walk around Anglesey, Holyhead - Church Bay, I passed a large ship lying on a low headland.

The headland is marked as Carreg-y-Fran on the OS Landranger and is just South of Porth Trwyn.

Is there a story behind the boat ? what is it doing there ? How did it get there? What is happening with it?

I attach a couple of photographs taken in Aug 07 when I first saw the boat.
