RAF Valley Fly-Past And Island Freedom Celebration

by Dewi
(Anglesey)

In the year when the Royal Air Force celebrates its 90th anniversary, island residents have the opportunity to experience a re-enactment of RAF Valley's Freedom of Anglesey celebrations.

On Saturday, 27 September, a special ceremony will take place in Llangefni in which participants will honour and reflect on the contribution made to the island by RAF Valley.

Among the events on show will be a fly-past by RAF Hawk Jets and a Sea King helicopter, together with a parade through the town centre.

The RAF facility at Valley has grown in recent years and is considered one of the leading UK bases for training fast jet pilots, under 19 and 208 squadron.

If you would like to be present for this event, you need to be outside the Anglesey County Council offices in Llangefni by 1100 am on Saturday.
