What type of Dolphins are they?

Hi,

We also saw some dolphins last summer (2008) during our stay at Trearddur Bay on Angelsey. They looked like the ones in your pictures, but we can't be certain.

I don't know if they call them bottle nose or harbour dolphins?

We'd appreciate if you could tell us more...

Bottle Nosed Dolphins
by: David

Hello Darren, I hope you enjoyed the experience of seeing the dolphins off Trearddur Bay.

As far as I recall these were bottle nosed dolphins that were originally spotted off Point Lynas by a colleague of Nia at MANW.

There have also been sightings of harbour porpoises along the Anglesey coast, indeed all along the Cambrian coast down towards Cardigan Bay.

This activity had to be limited because of mammalian protection legislation or we could have remained around the dolphins for quite some time.

Tell us more about your experience.
