Flowers, Food and Festival Songs in Benllech

by Kay Middlemiss
(Benllech)

Benllech is the place to be in mid July!

There will be a lovely Flower Festival in St Andrew's Church - arrangements by parishioners will depict "Songs of Praise".

Each of the ten side windows will be decorated by the organisations that regularly use the church hall to depict their group.

The Festival opens on Friday 18th July with a Communion Service at 10 am and will remain open until 4 pm.

On Saturday 19th it will be open from 10 am to 4 pm and on Sunday 20th from 12 noon to 4 pm.

During the festival a cafe will be operating in the hall serving drinks, filed bapa and cakes. There will also be a sales stall.

As a conclusion to the convivial weekend, on Sunday 20th there will be a "Mawlgan/Songs of Praise" where everyone is invited to join in the joyful singing of favourtite hymns, chosen by parishioners.

The music starts at 6 pm and there will be refreshments afterwards at £1.

Festivities continue into the following week when "Shades of Harmony and Friends" will give a concert in St. Andrews Church on Wednesday, 23rd July at 7.30 pm. Tickets £2.50.
