Fair Trade Coffee Morning

by John Perkins
(Menai Bridge)

A Fair Trade Coffee morning will be held from 10.30 am on Saturday 1 March - St David's Day - in the Community Centre in Water Street, Menai Bridge.

An African cocoa producer who is benefitting from fair trade will be present and there will be a Fair Trade stall with chocolate and coffee tastings and Fair Trade Welsh-cakes.

At this event it is hoped to announce that Menai Bridge is the first town on Anglesey to achieve Fair Trade status.

Anglesey Fairtrade Products
by: Jim

It's great news that Menai Bridge is leading the way with Fairtrade on Anglesey. Let's hope this will be the first of many on the island. Perhaps the local hotels and restaurants can be persuaded of the benefits of offering Fairtrade tea, coffee and other products.

One day Anglesey may have the title, Fairtrade Island of North Wales; now that would be something!
