There is a saying that goes: "You are what you eat." This is indeed true as your picture of health (or lack thereof) will be determined by the things you put in your body.

Your diet and eating habits will go a long way in determining overall health and wellness as it is its nutrients that are being absorbed and used by your internal body organs.

Apart from helping you lose weight or stay healthy and strong, good eating habits and diets are also good for another reason: helping you stay young, vibrant and energetic.

Knowing what kinds of food to regularly eat, avoid, or do a combination of helps you stay in tiptop shape, allowing your body to perform at its maximum.

The right diet helps you feel revitalized and rejuvenated, with constant flows of energy helping you throughout the day to accomplish your personal and professional tasks.

How Does Food Help You Look Young?

It is often said that a healthy digestive system results in better skin, and therefore, younger looking appearances—and this is indeed true.

Your choice of food determines how healthy your digestive system will be, and in turn, this will determine how your skin and overall appearance will look like.

If you eat properly and in the right amounts and intervals, your skin will stay supple, healthy, and glowing – the ideal picture of health.

Of course, apart from this, one cannot discount the fact that the right food choices can help you have more energy to go about the day and feel less lethargic and lazy. Of course, it all boils down to establishing a habit.

Making sure that you are eating the right things regularly can sometimes prove difficult, particularly if you have got used to a certain diet that is hard to let go of.

However, if your willpower is strong, you will be able to overcome this and establish a healthy diet that will keep you young and on your toes.

Slow Aging, Savour the Process
by: ronniemj

There are a number of SLOW movements and the philosophy underpinning them, Slow Aging, is derived from an understanding that though time is precious, rushing to try and fit more in is not the answer.

Slow aging is about actively engaging with and savouring the aging process. It is about healthy ageing and how to live longer in health.

It is not about how to live longer at the cost of quality. Slow aging is about conscious living; it is about embracing the aging process.

Anti-aging can sometimes be interpreted as a quick fix pathway, whereas Slow Aging is about deliberate disease prevention and maintenance of structure, function and quality of life.

Thanks Ronnie for this interesting contribution.

Peppers
by: Vishal

You are right Emily. Red, Yellow and Green peppers are very rich in antioxidants, which help reduce free radicals in our body. Free radicals are one of the factors contributing to aging.

red and yellow peppers
by: Emily

I love red, yellow and orange peppers and they tell me these are so good for us because of anti-oxidants in them.

Is this true?
